Candlewood House is proud to announce its partnership with the National Garden Scheme (NGS), an initiative that champions the beauty and therapeutic benefits of gardening while raising funds for vital nursing and health charities. Since its founding, the NGS has raised over £70 million for organisations like Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, and Hospice UK, including an impressive £3.4 million in 2023 alone.
At Candlewood House, the garden is more than just a space—it’s a sanctuary. Designed to enhance residents’ physical and mental wellbeing, the garden features sensory plants, seasonal flowers, and quiet corners for relaxation and reflection. Residents enjoy engaging in gardening activities, socialising in the serene setting, and finding comfort in the beauty of nature. It’s a source of joy and pride for the home, fostering community spirit and connection.
This collaboration is close to the heart of TLC Care, reflecting its ethos of creating environments where people can thrive and supporting causes that align with its values. By opening its gardens to the public, Candlewood House invites the community to experience the transformative power of green spaces and contribute to the NGS’s charitable mission.
Join us on the 11th of July 2025, 10th of August 2025, 7th of September 2025 and step into the tranquillity of Candlewood House’s gardens during our open days, hosted in partnership with the National Garden Scheme. Stroll through our vibrant flower beds and sensory plant displays, savour tea and homemade sandwiches, and immerse yourself in the warmth of our community. This is a unique opportunity to meet our residents and team, share stories, and support a fantastic cause, with all donations going to the NGS to fund vital nursing and health charities.
We look forward to welcoming you to Candlewood House as we come together to celebrate the joy of gardening and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. Let’s grow a brighter future, one garden at a time.
